Handover is where the asset register earns its keep. What the client asks for at the end is exactly what the register has been collecting all along — provided somebody kept it up to date.
This topic includes:
What handover needs
For every installed item: what it is, where it is, who made it, its model and serial number, when it was installed and commissioned, and when the warranty runs out. That is the asset record — which is why the fields exist.
Track the lifecycle
Move each asset through its status as the work happens rather than at the end: delivered when it arrives, installed when it is fixed, commissioned when it has been tested, handed over when the client has accepted it.
The last status in the set is marked as the terminal one, so "what is left" is answerable at any point rather than being a question for the final month.
Attachments
Attach the things the client will ask for, as they arrive: the O&M manual, the warranty certificate, the commissioning sheet, the test results. Attaching them to the asset is what keeps a certificate with the thing it certifies.
Export the register
Export the filtered register to hand over as a spreadsheet, or produce it as a report where a formatted document is wanted. Filter to the assets that have actually been handed over, so the export is a statement rather than a work in progress.
