Markups and pins

69 viewsUpdated 18/09/20261 min read

The sheet viewer carries a markup toolbar and three kinds of pin, so a drawing can be annotated and used as the index to the work on it.

This topic includes:

Draw a markup

Open a sheet and pick a tool from Tools on the left: Select, Rectangle, Circle, Line, Cloud Free, Text. Choose a Color, then draw on the sheet. Delete removes the selected markup.

Markups are saved against the version you drew them on and are visible to everyone on the project as you draw — the viewer keeps a live connection, so two people marking up the same sheet see each other's work.

Place a pin

A pin ties a record to a point on the drawing.

  1. Open the sheet.
  2. Click Issue pin in the toolbar.
  3. Click the point on the drawing.
  4. Give the issue a title, set its priority, and click Create issue pin.

The issue is created with its description recording which sheet it was placed on, and it appears in Issues like any other. File pin and Photo pin work the same way, attaching an existing file or photograph instead.

Tip: the pin is placed on the version you are viewing. To pin against the current drawing, check the version selector first.
