About Issues

130 viewsUpdated 18/09/20261 min read

An issue is a piece of work that needs doing or a defect that needs correcting. Issues are the project's snag list, its safety register and its coordination log at once, separated by category rather than by tool.

This topic includes:

The issues list

The issues list Issues, with the category and type taxonomy, due dates and the sheet each one is placed on.

  • Title — what is wrong, in a line.
  • ID — the short reference to quote on site.
  • Status — where the issue has got to.
  • Category and Type — the two-level taxonomy the project defines.
  • Due date — when it is needed by.
  • Placement — the sheet it was pinned to, if any.

Export (n) filtered exports exactly the rows you are looking at; the number in the button is the count. Deleted issues holds anything removed.

Statuses

Open, In-Progress, Ready to Inspect, Not Approved, Approved, Closed and Void. The ones in the middle carry the inspection cycle: work is offered for inspection, then approved or not.

What an issue records

Beyond title and description: a category and type, an assignee, watchers, a location and location details, a start date and a due date, a root cause, a priority, a linked sheet with a pin, and attachments.
